Breakers & Fuses

What is a breaker?

Breakers are those devised in your electrical panel that resemble a light switch, but positioned horizontally.  They act as safety devices designed to protect your homes electrical wiring and other electrical devices.

Why does my breaker(s) keep tripping?

A common cause for repeated breaker tripping is a loose circuit.  A loose circuit can be fixed very quickly through tightening the connections on the electrical panel.  However, this should only be performed by a licensed and trained electrician!  Never attempt to tighten, replace or remove a breaker on your own. All Steve Carter Electric electricians are licensed and trained, who also specialize in residential electrical service and repair.

Never ignore a tripping breaker.  A breaker is designed to trip in the event of an overload.  There is a reason your breaker is tripping, call Steve Carter Electric today to have your panel inspected.
